How do I find a sperm donor who has tested negative for a specific genetic disease or gene?

Thanks to our convenient genetic sorting feature on the Donor Search, you can now filter your query to only sperm donors who are negative for gene(s) you (or the egg source) tested positive. Since laboratories can call the same condition by different names, we recommend you use the search by gene name if at all possible.

  • Start at the Donor Search
  • Scroll down to Genetic Testing Search, below Basic Search and Advanced Search
  • Select the check box next to "Select by Genetic Disease(s) Tested Negative," which prompts a box to appear

Find and select your relevant gene name. If the gene name is not there, then we have not tested any donors for that gene yet. Special testing options may be available, and you can reach out to Client Services team at 800-338-8407 for more information. (link to answer about Genetic Testing Steps)

  • Hit Apply

Add other traits from the basic and advanced search options to view donors that meet those criteria as well.

  • Hit Search

Only donors that are negative for that gene with available vials will be presented. They may be carriers of other genes, so it is important to check that those genes are tested and negative in the egg source before using him.
